Bobby and I try and have date nights as often as possible so we’re always trying new restaurants. We recently tried a new Peruvian restaurant called WAKA which is based in The Oberoi Hotel, Dubai. It was our first time trying Peruvian cuisine so we had no idea what to expect.
Let’s start with the decor and general ambience; I loved the contemporary yet modern feel to it and the odd splashes of turquoise added that extra punch of color. The bar is definitely one of those places you’d want to hang out at for after work drinks and I loved the discreet DJ booth tucked away at the end of the bar. The restaurant area has lively and upbeat vibe with the bar clearly visible in case you fancy finishing off or starting with drinks.
The food was delicious. Every bite was bursting with flavor. The smoked guacamole literally stayed on our table the entire time as I couldn’t stop dipping into it with the freshly made chips. The beef grill and coconut rice was to die for! I finished off by asking for the Chocolate Bomb dessert which I kind of assumed would be a small delicate chocolate shell filled with more chocolate…how wrong I was. It was a huge chocolate shell that 3 people could easily share! The chef came out to pour hot chocolate sauce on it to melt it and reveal the surprise inside! The chocolate bomb was filled with a fantastic mix of Raspberry Sorbet, marshmallows, nuts, chocolate brownies and so much more! It has to be one of the best desserts I’ve had. I can tell this place is going to be a huge hit!
