So last week I headed over to Al Mayass (based in Sofitel Downtown) to try out their cuisine. They offer a fusion of Armenian and Lebanese food in modern yet with a hint of cultural surroundings. Bobby and I already love Lebanese cuisine but hadn’t tried Armenian cuisine before so this was a first for us!
The ambience and decor is perfect for group dinners and the fact they have an outdoor area which has AC is great if you want shisha with your meal. Whilst there we tried a bit of everything which was nice rather than opting for our usual ‘go to’ dishes. Be prepared for some experimental dishes with a fusion of ingredients that you wouldn’t ever think of mixing – the Kebabs doused in Cherry puree was my favorite. The Hummus has to be the best I’ve tried in Dubai…which is saying something! You won’t want to finish your meal at mains so keep room for desserts! The cheese dessert topped with candy floss was the perfect end to a delicious meal. We ate far too much but just couldn’t resist the amazing food!
The best way I can describe the cuisine at Al Mayass is fresh and bursting with flavors. Every dish was packed with fresh ingredients. It’s on our list of places to take guests so we’ll be back there soon!
